  • BarkFest welcomes dog lovers and their furry friends to this weekend-long festival of fun celebrating everything DOGS! The indoor BarkFest Market located in Red River Exhibition Place will showcase local vendors with the latest in dog-related products, services, and fashions to keep your pup on point. The event will also include Entertainment Features for dogs and humans both inside and outside on the festival grounds at Red River Exhibition Park.

Concept

In a hole in the ground there lived a very good dog.

Not a damp hole, filled with forgotten chew toys,

Nor yet a bare hole with no place to dine in comfort;

This was a BarkShire Burrow.

& that means all the warmth of home after a day of adventure.

A Place to Dine in Comfort

The feeder adjusts to 4”, 6”, 8”, or 10” above ground, so it can grow with your puppy or be made to fit a dog of any size.

Food and water bowls are easy to access through the window, keeping your pup well-fed and ready for the next adventure.

The Entrance

Every Hobbit hole needs a round door, but this one is just for show. The real entrance is always open, letting your pup come and go like the true adventurer they are. Hidden behind the food station, it even can add a touch of shelter from the wind.

Meet the Siblings

  • Dawn Klassen

    The Oldest | The Stylist

Dawn is a hairstylist at Tease ‘n Hair Co. in Westwood and has been in the industry since 2003. She loves being creative and making people feel good about themselves through a fresh cut and style. Although there is a large age gap between her two siblings, she is trying to be just that- a sibling and not a second mom. Outside the salon, Dawn enjoys a glass of wine by the fire with her hubby, gardening, and cheering on her kids as both a goalie mom at the rink and a moto mom on the track.

  • Jaclyn Hoffmann

The Middle Child | The Designer

Jaclyn earned her Interior Design degree from Mount Royal University in 2023 and now brings ideas to life as a Product Designer at Palliser Furniture. As the family’s middle child, Jaclyn has always found ways to stand out, now she does the same with her designs. Drawing on her background in anthropometrics, Jaclyn balances comfort with playful details, creating pieces that feel intentional & inviting.

  • Brenden Hoffmann

    The Youngest | The Builder

Brenden finished the Carpentry Pre Employment course at MITT in June 2025 after completing his Bachelor’s in History at the University of Winnipeg three years earlier. Currently he is a Level 1 Carpentry Apprentice at Bockstael Construction. Brenden usually spends his time playing games on his computer and doing small carpentry projects around the house. As the youngest, Brenden usually lets his sisters do most of the talking but will talk your ear off once he gets going.

  • Milo

    Project Supervisor | Jacky’s Son

Milo is a 6-year-old Pomeranian/Boston Terrier mix born in Calgary, AB. He’s full of energy and can usually be found chasing his favorite toy, a spikey pink ball. Despite dogs not being able to see pink, Milo has made it clear that no other colour will do. His mom has tried buying the same ball in several colours, but Milo stays loyal to the pink one every time.
